How to Make Total Changes for Healthy Living

When you want to make total changes for your health transformation,, you have to jump in with your 2 feet

When you jump in with your two feet, it means you’re expecting to make real changes. Real change requires discipline and consistency. When you look at the position of someone who is jumping into anything, the person is not holding back and not hesitant. People who do not jump in with their 2 feet are not decisive enough when they’re making changes. They allow their excuses to outweigh their why. Some of the excuses could be not having enough time, too busy with family and work or church or busy volunteering for other extracurricular activities. The outcome of this is that they are  not being disciplined to be consistent, to give it all it takes and sometimes they give up too soon before the real changes happen therefore do not get the results they desire.

It is said that excuses make today easier but tomorrow harder discipline makes today hard but tomorrow easier.  I remember the story of a lady that I met who was struggling with weight.  Apparently she knew me and saw the changes after my lifestyle modification and she wanted to do the same. I told her everything I was doing.. She wanted to do the same and observed me preparing and eating the type of food I eat . She really liked the changes but it was initially hard for her to make the changes. Long after I had moved on,  she later made the changes. I saw the real transformation in her. She was looking very trimmed and beautiful because of the changes that happened to her .

The reason for the difference between her new look and her old look was because she decided to jump in with her 2 feet and make the necessary changes and she got the right results.

I do not know what your story is, I just want to write this article to encourage you. . I do not know where you are in your wellness journey. You may be struggling with weight or some health challenges which are traceable to some of your diet, which require you to make some modifications,. or you may be looking at yourself and think you need to change and you are not happy with what you’re seeing. I was like that sometime ago but I want to encourage you to jump in with your two feet.

You may also have made some attempts in the past and were not successful and want to give up. Today, I want to encourage you to go back to it and give it all it takes by jumping in with your 2 feet. Jumping in with your 2 feet means that the major two components of lifestyle modification, which are exercise and diet need to be considered together. For  some people they get involved in vigorous exercise for a period of time, but they do not change their diet, and they wonder why they are not getting the results. It  is simply because exercise alone without modifying your diet may not give you the results you require on a consistent basis.

Just like we struggle and adapt with anything we’re doing for the first time, for instance, driving and adjusting to a new career, lifestyle modification is not too different. With time our taste buds adjust to the new diet and it becomes second nature. For the exercise as we integrate it into our daily routine they become our new normal.

Like most things in life, you may want to consider taking baby steps. The following steps may be helpful.

One, we can start with a three day challenge and adopt the new diet and exercise regimen. If we succeed the 3 days , we take it to seven days and 30 days after. It gradually becomes a lifestyle

During the 3 days, 7 days and 30 days challenge, we can adopt the ERA acronym to do this. The E stands for eliminate. Yes, there are certain things in our diet that we should not even eat at all. The food that are highly greasy with fat  and can easily block the arteries or some other food that are highly poisonous

The food that you should reduce is the food that is still good for you, but you don’t need to take in excess. Food like high carb or high animal proteins, or food, and drink with lots of high sugar content.

The food to develop alternatives for  are the ones you are eliminating. You can replace some of the highly fatty food with  plant-based food. which are low in calories and rich in vitamins

Studies have shown that habits are formed if you are able to do anything consistently for about 21 days . So you can move from three days to seven days and 21 days and you can adjust to this as your new lifestyle

As I conclude, let me share with you the insightful words of a great physician, who was a former fellow of American medical. Association. He said that when people make only moderate changes in diet and lifestyle, they have the worst of both worlds. They have the sense of deprivation because they are not able to eat and do everything they want but they’re not making big enough changes to make them feel much better or to have much effect on their weight, their cholesterol or their health. On the other hand when people make comprehensive changes in their diet and lifestyle, they begin to feel so much better so quickly that the effects of the choices become clear and for many people worth making. This truth reflects my own personal experience as well. Best way to maximize your health transformation or to change your diet and lifestyle is to jump right in and make it happen. No looking back. When people make real changes they see real results.
